Wow, that certainly looks maintenance intensive.

Having to grease the wheels every time they enter muddy or wet conditions, and changing air filters every day....

Have you seen the "Cologne Incident" film, 3rd Army. In city fighting a Panther knocks out Sherman, 3 of the 5 crew killed. Then an M-26 moves up and hits the Panther at an intersection, crew bails out then it brews up. Famous film footage on line.

Here is an amazing vid with slow motion, starts with the Sherman getting knocked out, and the poor commander with leg blown off bailing out, unfortunately he bled to death. Then shows the M-26 move up and make its shots count, members of the Panther crew bailing while they take 3 hits and brew up.
