[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Border Patrole Check Stations

If this is posted someplace else - please direct me.
I travel from Las Cruces New Mexico north weekly - there is a large Boarder Patrole check/inpsection station on I-10 going north (soon for southbound it appears). For years, no problem going through - sometimes a dog sniff, sometimes an agent looking in the vehical but no problems. If they were to pull me over and want to dismantle the vehical (which happens often) do they need a search warrent?.

Dismantle the vehicle? I doubt whether that happens often - the one here - I have seen them have a couple of people pullover for further questioning, but never seen a vehicle dismantled.

To do further inspection they need probable cause.

They do dismatle if necessary on-site or towed to El Paso for further 'processing'. The have the equipment and manpower at the site location.
