Posted a question over on the FFL page, but thought a link here might gets more responses since this page gets so much more traffic:
Question on selling a complete lower I'm just asking because I bought three LMT complete lowers w/SOPMOD and only need two. I ordered the original two with single stage triggers but one was for my SPR build and I really wanted a good 2-stage match trigger. Well, murphy's law struck and an LMT 2-stage match lower w/ SOPMOD showed up in stock a week later, so I got that - even though the other two had already shipped. I'm picking up all three from my FFL tomorrow and I'm looking to sell the one single-stage complete lower that I don't need. I just had no idea the legality of selling a lower to an individual or on the EE and wanted to get my ducks in a row before I listed it. I'm just trying to recoup my purchase and shipping cost - no profit desired...... |

You can sell it to an individual face to face without a dealer.
If you sell it to someone out of state or on the other side of the state you live in and they are not willing to drive to make the sale, it has to be shipped to a FFL and they would transfer it to the buyer. They usually charge around $20 for this service which the buyer would pay. Unless NV. has some laws that are different than here in UT.. |

If the lower is assembled as a 'rifle' lower, it can be shipped via USPS within the state - no driving necessary, no FFL necessary. Again, though, if it's crossing state lines, it MUST go through an FFL. |

This...and if it's not a rifle (i.e. a pistol) lower, it can still be shipped UPS or Fedex within the same state, no FFL necessary. |
