I was wondering if you guys could answer a question for me.  If I were to buy a lower( as far as I understand, the "actual" firearm) PRE-ban, could I then purchase the rest of the pieces and assemble it legally after the ban is put into place?  I'm just wondering how badly my piggy bank has to be injured,

IF the new ban has the same loophole as the past one. Who knows though.

I hear you mate.  I know none of us can fully know exactly what nefarious deeds will be done, but it makes me feel better that it was allowed in the last one.  Thnx for the answer SIPCAT-C.   Do you guys think it likely that the future ban will follow the past one?

I think it'll be worse and I think they'll try to make it permanent (no sunset clause), but who knows?

If a new ban is worded like the old one the answer is NO.  The lower must be part of a kit that includes all the parts to make an AW according to law to be grandfathered. A LOWER by itself was NOT grandfathered under the old AW Ban.
