is it against the rules /law to buy and resell, quicksell for profit anything considered a firearm or is this just another urban myth??

Buying with the intent to resell goes against the letter of the law, though intent is incredibly difficult to prove.
While someone could theoretically run a handful of for-profit transactions a year without drawing attention, you shouldn't try to act like a firearms dealer unless you are licensed as a firearms dealer.

i ask because all that lower buying and alot of it for sale here and there at high prices are those guys at risk?

There is no magic number. It is intent and that is left to the BATFE to decide. The GCA '68 if you buy and sell as a means of live hood you must have FFL so If you want do so without FFL then you ahead . It's your neck
