section-178.129 record retention-firearms transaction record-licensee shall retain form 4473 and form4473 lv for a period of not less than 20 years after date of sale or disposition-so after 20 yrs 4473 can be destroyed and gun off books?

no   after 20 yrs they can send the 4473 to the ATF in atlanta for storage  

4473's are never destroyed unless there is a fire, natural disaster or boating accident

No, they can be destroyed after 20 years.

Also, ATF in Atlanta doesn't get any records from dealers.  The Out-of-Business Records Center is in Falling Waters, West Virginia.  The only time any records have to be sent there is when a business is discontinued.
