First post here, and you guys are billed as the biggest gun forum community. I hope to learn alot about firearms on these boards, and with classroom time.

A little about myself. I am currently a part-time student, and hold a full time software quality assurance job in gaming. I was married for 11 years, and my wife never would allow me to own weapons in the house(2 young daughters.)

Now that im a freeman again (woot!!), i would like to catch up on gun collecting. I owned 2 Mini 14's prior to being married, and they were nice. I had one stainless steel version, and a camo version(i did not care for the looks, but the price was good.)

Anyhow, I was wondering, as I am an upright citizen, never been arrested for anything ever, how hard and what is involved with obtaining a fully automatic AR-15 or Tommy Gun, for my first piece in the collection. I understand that they are CLass 3 weapons, and unless I purchase a pre 1986 made weapon, i cannot own a fully automatic weapon.

I want to legally own one, and DO NOT want to break any laws. I live in Reno, Nevada.
Thats it for now I guess.

Question 2. How hard is it to make your own bullets, and how much for the initial equiptment? I understand that bullets of certain calibers are quite expensive.

Thank you all for your help, and I hope to post many, many questions about guns on these forums.

Welcome to the Jungle,

Check this out for starters, good info to know.NFA

Now do you mean, "making"  as in melting lead and caseing cases, or simply reloading?

I think you just want to start reloading, so check out the "reloading forums".
