Some woman at work has made 2 SH complaints about me, both are false. I have been told by the boss (an ex-cop) that it is legal for me to carry a voice recorder. His words: "If one person in the room knows a recording is being made, it is legal." I was surprised to learn this. I want to carry a video recorder in my bag. I assume this is also legal. The problem is, the scheduler keeps scheduling us to work together, unsupervised, for at least 3-4 hours a week, even though I have protested this. The last time I had to work with her I spend the time in my car! (We are security officers.) Any ideas? |

Check your state laws and don't take anyone's word for it. In MA (and MANY other states) the laws were changed many years ago from "one informed party" to BOTH parties must know and agree. Anything else is a Felony and falls under the "wiretapping" law. Just a caution, that you need to check it out to cover your six. |
I think there are 12 states that require all parties to consent to a recording. Most of them are in the northeast. For the rest of the states, as long as one person knows it is being recorded, it is legal. Federal law only requires one party to be informed of the recording. |

tell her that she will be documented when around you, in any means possible and if these bullshit charges keep being filed she can expect a civil suit from you vs her for slander. i would have a face to face with her asking what her problem is on tape both video and audio. maybe see if she is fed in the head and enterprets something as harassment. can a straight male be sexualy harassed by a gay male as easily as a women can be harassed by a man? |
prob'ly not. But just try it the other way around. |
