Probably a dumb question but here goes. I plan on building an AR in 300 whisper. I will purchase a complete upper and an 80% lower and go from there. Question one is threaded barrel or not threaded. I do plan on doing required paper work and purchasing a suppressor as finances permit. Are there legal issues with a threaded barrel? Question two does anybody out there have any suggestions as to maker of complete upper, I was thinking of Model One. ( I mailed my paperwork today to allow building a suppressor for my .22lr.) any idea how long before I hear from atf

It is perfectly legal to have a threaded barrel. USP tactical and Mk23 pistols come standard with them. I would not get a model1 upper. For the same price buy a Stag/CMT/LMT. They are all supieriour quality and built to almost perfect mil spec. Model 1 has costomer service issues and not the best quality parts.

IIRC Modle 1 sales 300 FIREBALL. I do not know if it is the same round or not.
