Had a hankering for a high power. Went to county sheriffs dept. to fill out gun permit (usually a 3 day wait period after background check). I'm informed that I must list each and every address, town and state that I've lived in since 1965 (my birthdate). Last four years I've lived in N.C., same county. Have gotten about 6 gun permits in the past (in the current county I'm residing), but this is a new "policy" (listing addresses). I've lived in about 10 states, and for the grace of god, I can't remember every street address where I lived. Can anyone tell me why I must list each individual address and not just give the town and state where I lived? I figure they could at least call the local police of the town listed to see if I have "local record" (I don't have anything in my past, which is how I got the first 6 permits to begin with). |

See what ya got here is the liberals from the north have gotten down here and fucked up the way things have been done for years. I live in Onslow county and beside the usual Marines with out of state plates, I have been seeing more and more from NY, NJ, PA, NH and MD with old people in the vehicles. Well, they get their noses in everything and next thing ya know the laws get changed to suit them i.e. criteria for a pistol purchase permit. I say to all of them, go the F*** back to where you came from! |

UnusSupra1 Hey, I was born in Maine (about as Yankee as you can get[:D] We aren't are liberals who come down south (I'd also like to point out that I also lived in a trailer in West Virginia[%|] Actually, the only difference now is that there is a new sherriff in office. |

Raulin Not a bad idea, but... first 16 years of my life I lived on Air Force bases (6 of them), 2 of them overseas. This isn't counting the fact that I've lived in Pennsylvania on 3 seperate occasions (different addresses). Never "being tied down" always made it easy to move:) Thing I find amusing is that I have my conceal carry permit from the last state I resided in. Another thing funny is that a customer of mine who lives in the next county (about 30 miles down the road) tells me that in his county, they can still get thier permits the same day. The thought of moving has already occured to me. |
