I got a SBR question, a couple actually. 1. Can I get a Post Ban lower SBR registered? 2. If so, can I get a 11.5 Bbl say from Bushmaster, have them remove the bayo lug, and replace the A-2 FS with an approved brake such as the new Izzy one? 3. Then put the smaller size ACE stock on it and the whole package be GTG? This way, I have no additional features as defined per AWB, right?? Thanks, Bob |

According to the paper work I have, it is still $200.00 I guess that I will use one of my new MEGA lowers as a SBR project because I really like the way the new Bushmaster Izzy brake looks. That Bbl along with the short version of the ACE stock will make a neat little weapon system. In fact, my Patrol LT has even given me the initial "green light" to carry it on duty as a "duty weapon" because our Dept. already has Sub guns etc. |

I am planning to do this in a couple of months, but I have one minor question: On the Form 1, question 4i, it says "state why you intend to make firearm." I don't want my app to be denied because of this stupid question, so I ask what is a "good" reason? Is "Recreational Shooting" an acceptable answer? The main reason I want a short barrel is for compatibility w/ accessories. Should I put that down? --cfors |

In your case, I would put "personal use/collection." I will be using the rifle as a compact duty weapon, have a authorization letter to do so from my Dept., so I'm putting "law enforcement duty use." I too was initially concerned about that question thinking that they may be quite restrictive as to why I wanted one. Anyone else have suggestions?? |

They always approve. |
