Doing a short paper on cameras and video in the courtroom and jury deliberation room.  Sort of the pros and cons type paper.  Topic was assigned to me...

I'd like to e-mail a few questions to some lawyers to get their input and perspective.  If you don't mind helping out, please IM me your name and e-mail address and I'll shoot you a short questionnaire.

I'm wanting input from lawyers, Public Defenders, Prosecutors, law enforcement officers, and citizens who would perhaps be on a jury.

As a person of the public, I would not want my mug in any video or pics from any court proceedings. Whether I was on the jury or even just in attendance.

Hope that helps.

No sweat.... that's actually an issue to be discussed.  If you want, send me an IM with your name and e-mail address and I'll include your opinions.

Cameras allowed in court room under certain circumstances & with courts approval.
The camera is not allowed tape victim / witness.  Jury members are not allowed to be videoed.  Their delibrations are kept secret.  Big no no on video or recording of any type.

I appreciate all the replies but unless I can get some one to send me their name/e-mail address I really can't cite their input and them as a source of information.

If you don't mind, could you IM more about your opinion(s) and in what capacity you serve in the "system"... it would be a big help.

Google "camera in a jury room." if you want scholarly articles put "law review" at the end.  If you want an opinion from a person, call your local law school and ask for the con law, criminal procedure, or trial advocacy professor.

If you don't have access to WestLaw or Lexis Nexis, use http://scholar.google.com/.  Search for some law review articles.
