I got a PWA (pac west arms I believe) ar a year ago. It has Milan Italy also on it. I did some searching on the net and found a few pages that listed pac west arms serial numbers for pre ban as being 32000ish and under. Mine is 15000ish. The problem I've found is that apparently they have gone out of business. How do I go about getting proof that my pre ban gun is actually legal to keep in a pre ban configuration? I haven't taken it out yet because the barrel has a few chips in it. I'm replacing the barrel with a post ban setup, but I do plan on adding a collapsible stock. I appreciate any advice ya'll have to offer as I have no desire to go to jail over some retarded reactionay law that makes it illegal for law abiding citizens to carry a weapon a criminal can get if they really want to anyway. |

Unless the seller provided some proof, you have no way to obtain proof. So, you either keep it configured "post-ban-legal" or you take your chances getting caught. Note that it is unlikely you'd ever have a problem shooting at the range, or whatever, but if you were to ever use the rifle for self defense, or did something else that would cause you to come to the attention of your DA's office, you could expect some seriously expensive legal bills. -Troy |
