It is permissible to ship 15rd mags to a LEO in California, correct?
I have an officer who wants to purchase them. I know it's not legal to ship to civilians, but I'm sure there is an LEO exemption. Anything I need to do other than get a copy of his Dept ID?

What, we have no CA LEOs here?

LEOs can purchase mags over 10 rds w/ ID. Not sure about mail order but in a store, yes. Pretty sure mail order would be okay too.

You know wrong.

You may ship magazines of any capacity that you can, to whom every you want here,  as long as you disassemble them even a little bit. For AR-15 magazines simply remove the floor plate and you've created a magazine repair parts kit. Don't need no ID, law enforcement or otherwise, to repair your magazines up to and including replacing every part in them.

We haven't been able to buy new standard-capacity magazines here for a full 10 years, and they're all wearing out.  The demand for magazine repair kits is increasing.

This thread has nothing to do with civilian magazines. It's a question strictly on the LEO side of the issue. I think it was answered in the second post, provided he is correct. I just sent a CA cop two very rare "standard" capacity mags with a photo dept ID and a call to his HR dept verifying employment. Actually, I'm sure it's fine, I'm just wondering if there was anything else I was supposed to do under CA law.
