Modify the bolt face logo a little bit...say put a box around it.

Stony Creek Defense?

I think this is very mundane expect to those you want to cater to who will notice it.

Is Stony creek a reference to something in particular?
Any pictures?

Well congrats on the new venture, I thought about doing that last year, but the zoning stopped me from getting too serious about it.

Post a shirt pic when they are done, we may want one.

I think the name blackwater is available. That would catch some attention.

Lose all the bible related crap. If the last guy was catering to gang bangers he did not follow it anyway.  Get the place painted a solid color inside and out and buy some air freshener.  Get some signage that is brightly colored, maybe a camo background.  Add a nice LEO/military theme.  Maybe something that says "We gladly special order duty related items" in plain view of the first few thugs through the door.

Pass some flyers out at the local ranges and maybe drop a few in the mail to the nearby PD's and guard units.  See if you can change the customer base right away.  Offer a 5-10% discount to mil or leo guys with ID or in uniform. Don't carry crap or trade for crap guns.  Decline the Jennings, Bryco and Davis trades, don't stock or order crap guns.

I do professional design work. Would you cosider a trade of logo, card, and small brochure or post card design for a firearm?

I'm in the very early stages of opening a new local gun shop. I have a name chosen and my attorney is forming a LLC for me.

I need to come up with a catchy/attractive logo... one that doesn't scream "guns".  The previous store owner has bible verses all over the exterior of the store and very cheesy looking signage.

I want to remove all the clutter and put up one nice neat sign on the building. The store has/had a bad reputation for catering to ghetto thugs, and I need to make it very clear, this will not happen again. I want to cater to LE, Military, sportsmen and hunters. Ghetto thugs are no longer welcome...

The name I've chosen is "Stony Creek Outfitters"

My wife works for a buddy of mine doing embroidery on hats and shirts...  so whatever logo I come up with can be easily put on clothing.  I also want a nice neat decal to put across the back window of my truck.

Any suggestions ?

Once I got a collage kid going for graphic arts to draw up a logo for me.
He did as good of a job as anybody else would but for only $50.

I'm going through this right now in my Marketing and BATFE Regulations class. I wanted a specific artwork that matched my companies name, I actually found something better than expected and went the commercial clip art route. I basically bought copywright free cartoon that get to use for whatever I want; t-shirts, buisness cards, signage, etc.

Perhaps an M4 with a superposed ACOG reticle.

It is a gun store.  The sign is for advertizing.  It should scream GUN!

It is too easy to miss a shop that has a poor sign.  I am that guy that looks for such things and I have seen it done very poorly.

If you don't want people to think it is a gun store, just name it the FLOWER SHOP.

Outfitters would make me think it is for camping.  I would probably drive on by unless something caught my eye. Flower Shop would not do it..........

For my construction business, I did searches online for logos.  I found alot of samples and examples.  I got the basic idea of what I wanted, then went in to the shop that creates signs and logos, and told them what I wanted.  It wasn't expensive.  They just charged for the signs they made.
