Is it acceptable to compromise my principles? Excellent point. All these politicians will sell their representation to the highest bidder. Once in office they will compromise. You are probably right but I'll give Rubio a chance before I completely give up. He talks a good game now. We will see how he performs in office. I honestly think that we cannot restore the Republic and the Constitution through the electoral process. There is too much inherent greed and corruption. I think the only way to get back on track is with another revolution. Senators should not be elected by the people anyhow. They should be appointed by the States as was originally designed by our Founding Fathers. The fact that they are elected by the people means they give up their representation for states rights to national special interest groups like the unions and environmental wackos. That is the main reason we have had an encroachment of Federal power and a gigantic increase in the size of the Federal government over the years. The Senate was supposed to be a check on Federal government and a guardian of State’s rights but instead it has become an enabler. Thank the goddamn yankees that won the Civil War for that little fuck up. |
