| Im in the process of getting my FFL here in central Indiana. Im looking to do some AR 15 builds for some high return. Just based off the storefront prices I see here locally (Colt or not), I see AR builds as a great potential earner. My question is the tools...What tools are "must haves?" Brownells sells an AR 15 tool kit for about 1500, this seems too high to me. What tools am I really gonna need to do AR 15 assembly. Most likely intact uppers, and adding parts to stripped lower receivers....thats how I'll start, then eventually entire assembly. Looking to keep my start up cost as low as possible and save wherever I can. Im already heavily invested and havent even opened. Any knowledge you can throw my way would be awesome!...One final thing, whats the word on del-ton? Good quality? |

Hmm.
You can get some tools at Sears. I'd get at a minimum a roll pin holder set, a punch set, and a prick punch (first two are for assembling the lower, last is for staking the castle nut to the receiver plate). a bench vise (sears) a brownell's bench block for both the upper and lower. a castle nut wrench (brownells) |
