Yeah... I know they suck... but I still get lots of good deals and occasionally sell something through them.
And that's what brings me to this question: I just sold a Minolta camera lens on Ebay. I stated in my auction that I was only selling to continental U.S. bidders. I had someone from China bugging me about buying it and said they had a contact here in the U.S. I could sent it to. I told them I wasn't interested. So I get to looking at the winning bidder, and find-out that it's someone in New York, but the payer was this international bidder. I go to check my Paypal account and the money's there. But I'm nervous about this deal still. Also, after winning, the bidder sent me an email asking me to send it out right away because they were leaving on Feb. 3 and wanted to have it by then. I was just about to put this thing in Priority Mail a minute ago and decided I'd better ask the hive mind. Should I hold-off? Is there anyway they can screw me over once I've got their money in my Paypal account (it's already there)? ETA: Crap this like is why I rarely sell on Ebay. Just like buying. |

If their Paypal listed and confirmed address is the same as the one they asked you to ship it to... you should be covered. Send it insured and signature delivery.
ETA: BTW: They can screw you over (its' PayPal after all.) If you don't sell often and sell an item for a few bucks, PayHell will hold the funds and tell you to ship. If the buyer files a claim or tries a chargeback while the funds are on hold, your money can be tied up for a long time. |
| If the paypal address is confirmed you should be okay. If you feel ill about the deal just don't send it and refund the money back to them. I sell a bunch of stuff on ebay and no longer ship out of the USA. I never really had a problem before but it sure sucks if you lose the money and the lens |
