So, I'm watching "Airwolf" on hulu.com, and this episode begins with a dogfight consisting of 5 Hughes MD 500 Defenders (armed with what look like 2.75" rockets and 2 miniguns each) against 2 Chance Vought F4U Corsairs.

I get the feeling based on the trailer that the helicopters won.

But I have to think, all things being equal, the choppers would be slaughtered.

WTF would they even consider this as a story plot?

For reference,

Airwolf was an awesome show, at least the first 2 seasons

Good grief man!  It was a supersonic Bell 222 with whisper moder and you're worried about Hughes 500's vs Corsairs?

Just kiddin' ya!

Well, I would hope they get something right.

I never liked the special effects they used for Airwolf's air-to-air missiles either. Even back then, I used to think, "WTF? It's like a ball of light with no contrail." I guess it was cheaper for the special effects artists to paint the missiles that way.

Jan Michael Vincent pissed that series away like he did the rest of his career. I saw him on E a few years ago and he looked really bad, I mean really bad.  A perfect example of what addiction will do to you.

Agree. The plots and stories fell along the Cold War and the "Firms" interests instead of personal vendettas and the hero mentality of the last season. When sweet britches was introduced at the end of the 2nd season and became the third wheel in the 3rd season, it was all downhill from there.
