OK, so here's an unusual one for you. I put a GSG-5 on lay-away at my local fun-shop back in December. Now, as you may be aware, due to the settlement reached with HK in the lawsuit they must cease selling them by 31JAN10 and all unsold units must be returned to ATI.

I can't ask the manager until tomorrow, and would like to hear your thoughts. So is my "lay-away" considered a purchase, or is it going to be sent to the woodchipper if I don't have it paid off by 31JAN10?

no distributers must stop distributing them. existing stock in stores is perfectly legal to sell. the local shop here has a few still on the shelf and will until they are sold. <unless something has changed in the last 2 weeks when we had this discussion>.

layaway IS a purchase. the gun IS sold.

4473 complete?  If not, I would guess purchase is not complete.

Just my opinion

This is what I've been told by a few fairly law savvy peeps, which prompted me to ask.

But if what TBS is saying is correct (that they have to stop DISTRIBUTING, and not stop SELLING them), then I should be GTG.

The gun is (being) purchased with the lay a way. It just hasn't transfered (4473.)
