I would like to respectively dis-agree. Just voting, to vote is no help. The watchword should be to find out who are your friends and who are not, and issues that are meaningful to us. Check out the Gun Owners of Calif website at www.gunownersca.com. You will find their endorsement of Bill Simon for the Republican candidate(Dick Riordan is 110% anti-gun). And check out who GOC endorsed for various state-wide assembly and senate offices. Of course on the bond issues, govts are pleading poverty that they don't have money for this and that. The issue is not whether they have the money or not, but where do they want to spend it. Do "they" want to spend it on roads, or schools & mid-night basketball. Of course to fix the roads they want the people go into hock(i.e. bonds), whereas funds for social programs, they have plenty of money. For me, I'm going to vote NO all of the props that want bond money for clean water, new voting machines etc. I will vote yes on prop 42 to dedicate gasoline tax money for transportation only, whereas in 2008 this money will revert to the general fund.

Amen to that, brother warlord! I often vote the NRA recommendations, but I have to say they made the wrong choice this time by supporting "Boring Bill" Jones. It was a logical choice, but the logical choice is not always the right choice especially in Californistan politics. I'm going with the GOC recommendation (and my own personal analysis) and voting for Simon. People outside of Californistan may be interested in this: Californistan has a "modified closed primary". Voters who are affiliated with a party (Republican, Libertarian, or one of the evil parties) vote for all nonpartisan offices, propositions, and partisan issues like committee members for their own parties. But independent voters (not affiliated with a party) like me get a choice! At the polls we can request either a nonpartisan ballot OR one from any of the parties, but excluding party committee choices. IOW I can and will request a Republican ballot and will vote for Bill Simon. I'm 44 years old and have never voted in a Republican primary before. [rolleyes] I was a member of a certain other big party from age 18 until several years ago, when I quit it in disgust over gun rights and privacy issues.

Again, I respectfully dia-agree about Bill Jones. Bill has been a staunch pro-gun in all the years he has been in Calif. State govt, I could easily vote for him if but consider the circumstances. Mr. Jones doesn't have the financial support to go against Grey Davis. Gov. Davis is a formidable opposition candidate and his access to financial resources is immense. I hope others in Calif. and other states don't blow off the primaries, because it is very important. Just think, we have the CHOICE of a pro-gun candidate(Simon & Jones or we could be stuck with an anti-gunner(former L.A. mayor Riordan). Bitching and moaning to other gunners(i.e. preaching to the choir) is not going to help our cause. We need to convince other gunners and others to vote pro-gun, otherwise the onslaught will just continue. The pro-gun groups can only do so much, it is up to each pro-gun person to be politically active.

You're not alone, Family was with that other party, but back then they only promoted more bonds, bill, and TAXes. Today, their true colors are showing. I also switched years ago, but was voting republican years before the switch.

I would be happy to see either Jones or Simon in the governor's mansion. Anyone but Riordan. Even Davis over Riordan. There's nothing at all wrong with Jones regarding his qualifications or gun rights stance. I'm voting for Simon because he has a better chance of beating Davis in the general election, IMO.

I also switched from the party of evil to Decline to State. Unfortunately, in the PRK my choices are limited. I can vote for extremely high taxes, or just higher taxes. I can vote for a gun grabber, or an insane anti-gun fanatic. Candidates are either Socialist or Communists, and any true freedom fighter doesn't have a chance of winning an election. One of my more conservative friends has developed voter apathy. After a long time caring he just gave up, and is now content to march off to the re-education camp in silence. He probably won't even bother to vote this year. Living here can do that to you.

In the stench of the post-Watergate era I chose the party that seemed right to me at the time. I still hold most of the ideals that drove me to the Other Party. My first election was in 1976, a Presidential election in which I voted for Jimmy Carter. That was before I owned any firearms or had to support myself and pay taxes. I have never failed to vote in any election. No matter how discouraged I get, I will never miss a vote as long as I can physically manage to cast mine. That right and responsibility is way too important to neglect. I get really angry with people who don't vote but have the temerity to complain about how things are.

I wouldn't recommend that procedure to anyone. There other things that must be voted on. Those are important also.

A vote for anyone but Richard Riordan is a vote for Gray Davis. Quit wasting your votes on people like Jones or Simon who have no chance at getting elected. VOTE RIORDAN- THE ONLY CHOICE FOR FREEDOM.

Often times you make me laugh with your witty remarks, but dude, the sarcasm can get overwhelming. No flame though.

LOL! If it was anyone but Imbroglio saying that I'd fail to grok the sarcasm. If it comes down to Riordan vs. Davis I WILL vote for Davis.
