This has nothing to do with no beans vs beans  ( the answer is no beans! )

Define Chili.  The Arfcom definition.   I make a pulled pork chili that meets the definition that I know.  Chili peppers and meat.   Apparently there is some distorted view that Chili has to be a particular concotion of some sort that is outside the rules of Chili cookoffs and the like.

So now the question is what makes Chili to the hive of Arf?

A spicy stew/soup made with chili peppers, with its origins in the cuisine of the American Southwest and Mexico. Everything else is variety.

Now I know the real definition but I need to know what qualifies here on ARF.

I have seen a gazillion threads on Chili and everybody and their brother pipes up that it's not chili.    I see it's sphagetti sauce or soup or sphagetti sauce soup or whatever.  I'm just wondering what the self appointed "experts" here define it as.

Chili is the name of the town I grew up in.  Only you  pronounce it with long " I's" .

Chili is chili...

...as long as there are no beans in it...

Then it would be chili with beans.

...which is not chili.

I don't know who Chili is or why you want to define him, but his restaurant isn't half-bad.
