I ordered someone a chainsaw of Amazon.com since it was half the price of a local one.
1st one comes in, makes 7 cuts and dies (either UPS or Obama's fault), so I contact them and they send a replacement, telling me to ship the old one back.
While waiting for the replacement to arrive the original one was kinda fixed and COC violation rigged so it works.

I contact them today about getting a shipping label and I get this response

due to safety reasons, we cannot accept the return of any hazardous materials––these include items that are gas-powered or use propane or natural gas––at any of our fulfillment centers. The risk of accident is simply too great.

Please feel free to dispose of it at your own convenience, and you won't be charged for it.

So I just got a free chainsaw, or I can sell it locally and get nearly what it cost.
I'm ordering all my stuff like that from Amazon now, if it dies you get a replacement so you have one that can be fixed or spare parts.
Policy like that is asking for abuse though

Really. You could order any gas appliance and claim it stopped working... if you were a thief.

Was it from Amazon or from the Amazon Marketplace sellers?

No a power washer you normally have to steal directly by taking it from where it sits to the car.

Now the ignored item theft is the one where you put something (case of beer is common) under the basket and 2 big bags of Ol' Roy dog food on top of it, tell the woman about the dog food or even put one on the belt leaving the other to cover the item

Then there is item stuffing, packing a box with extras

Also the UPC switch

I broke my Kitchenaid noodle press the first time I used it due to carelessness.  I called to order a part.  They sent the whole thing and did not want the old one back.

What exactly broke on it and how did you fix it up?

I'm trying to decide if I should start trying to buy it from you... ;-)
