| I want to get my wife a car stereo for Christmas because the deck that came with her 00 Jetta still has a damn tape player and no CD. I want it to play CDs and I want her to be able to plug her Creative Zen MP3 player into it. It would also be pretty cool if it had a slot for an SD card. I was going to buy at Audio Express, but a friend says I might be able to save money buying online and he can help me install it. I’d like to spend about $200. What do you advise? |

Look at this one or just cruthfied in general.
They have some killer deals on good stuff when the new models come out. |

I have had good luck with Cruthfield in the past the customer service is very knowledgeable and when your purchase a receiver from them they will send you the supplies that you need to install it in your own car including instructions on how to do so. As far as brands go I have only had Kenwoods so far and have been very pleased with them, I can't recommend a model but I would suggest giving them a call and telling them what you are looking for and I bet they can help you out. Just my opinion. |
| Good call. I ended up getting the Kenwood KDC-MP342U for $140 w/ free shipping. I told the rep what I was looking for and he recommended that unit. I asked him if there were any others and he actually said that there was no reason to pay more unless there were specific features I was looking for. I’m pretty happy. I'm gonna change the thread title, though so the wife doesn't catch on. Thanks, guys. |
