Friggin hilarious, about halfway through the movie everytime Pitt spoke I was crackig up. Haha, I couldn't take the movie seriously because of him. It was pretty entertaining, though. Yeah, his character was great. Pitt really is fantastic in most movies he ends up in. |

Quoted: posters that support nazi style politics yet like anti nazi movies is about like jews supporting gun control..... ![]() sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. Jewish lady I work with that had family that lived through the holocaust doesnt think any civilians should own firearms

One of the few Terantino flicks I've actually liked. The German actor who played the SS officer (the starring role, really) was outstanding. Yeah, he deserves some serious international recognition. He was INCREDIBLE. Quoted:
Come on, when Brad Pitt starts with the I-talian accent in the theatre, I about pissed my pants laughing. That was a good movie. I expected more blood from Q though. I missed a few lines because I was laughing so hard, that was so goddamn funny. |

Really enjoyed it. I think some people went in expecting a war movie. It was represented as one before the release. The trailers were all basterds and almost showed all their scenes. I liked it, but at the same time I was disappointed at how small the basterds were in the movie. We only see half of them die. Great performances by the whole cast. I hated Kill Bill and didn't have much hope for a Tarintino film, but thankfully he let the story make the movie instead of crappy B-movie homages and 1st year film student tricks |

For some reason the fact that in one conversation the subtitles would be inconsistent.
The character would say Merci, and it would be translated into Thank you, only for the character to say it again in the same conversation and the subtitles would translate it into Merci, which is what he said. Weird. In my opinion the German actor really made the movie what it was. The Jew hunter or whatever he was called. Seemed fluent in 3 languages, was real charismatic. He was the best addition to the movie in my opinion. Really would have been boring without him. |

Pulp Fiction 2. Reservoir Dogs 3. IG All the rest. IG is better than RD, but I had to give RD the number 2 slot because it was innovative for its time. |

What is that scar around Pitt's neck? Somebody sew his head back on? Was he hanged at one time? Did the movie offer details? No, the Basterds are really a small side plot, very little screen time. The "Jew Hunter" and the girl "Shosanna" are the main characters and the majority of the film is about them |

No. I read somewhere thhat Brad said it was the result of a failed lynching, and was part of the formation of the character's sense of justice. But it's never addressed in the movie. |

This movie was so good, I saw it 4 times in theatres. Christoph Waltz: Instant filmic legend. Period. The Basterds were great, but Landa was genius! QT said the whole movie rested on the character and was ready to shut down production if he couldn't find the right person for the role. And boy, did he find him! If he doesn't win the Oscar, that'll be the last nail in the coffin. (He already won the award at Cannes, so its not like he hasn't gotten the recognition he deserves from everywhere not Hollywood.)
