So my wife's remote car starter is working right. I am trying to reprogram it. They mention a Valet Switch in the instructions. Does anyone know what a Valet Switch is? Where I may find it? TIA zeekh

The Valet switch is a switch that you can activate that will disable the system. It is normally mounted in an out of the way spot that isn't easily found.

Not sure if this is what you're referring to, but on some vehicles, there is a "valet switch" that disconnects the electric trunk release, thereby making it a little more difficult for a parking valet to open it and steal the contents. Check your vehicle owner's manual for the location. Typically, it's mounted inside the glove compartment.

Usually under the driver's side dash, around the steering column.

Look near the diagnostic port and also see if the blinking LED pushes like a button.  Most kits ship a little black momentary push button switch, it will have one or two wires on it.

Unfortunately the owners manual is pretty vague. It just says to turn off the Valet Switch

I found the control module but there isn't a switch on it. I think the remote is bad but I want to try reprogramming it before buying a new one. Unfortunately the manufacturer is out of business.

Thanks for posting, as I was about to ask what would it be used for.

PS. I don't have a valet switch.
