I haven't even been here long and I've seen a major increase in asshats and douchebags come out of the woodwork. We've got a "Stealing is okay" thread going on for Christ's sake. |

i havent been here long but gd seems about normal to me youve got your occasional upsetting thread (apparently your walmart theft bluray thread) the "anyone like the movie 'shooter'" thread a few threads about ridiculous politicians some threads about police being in the wrong "swat team raids wrong house....again" the "should i buy a glock 19 or another AR/1911/XD(m)" thread seems about normal to me

There are much worse places on the Internet.
Actually my S/O suggests you check out dance.net. Apparently it's full of thirteen y/o girls chattering on about how they want to be ballerinas. I was thinking more along the lines of 4chan, but that sounds pretty awful, too.

I picture it like a neighborhood.
Once the idiots take over, vicious spirals start. Once the schools have a bad reputation, few decent families want to move in, more thug types do. Eventually, the respectable people stay in their homes behind locked doors and barred windows, while letting the hoodlums run the streets and define the community. The moderators are like an underpaid and overworked police force, operating within a legal code that really can't do much about it, unless they witness a flagrant violation of the law. A few folks are occasionally willing to walk up to the gang of hoodlums on the corner and tell them to get a job, but they are shouted down by the masses, who then proceed to high five each other about how they "kept it real." |
