If so, what were your results? I've got a smoking habit that I need to kick, and I don't have the willpower to do it cold turkey.

My best friend who smoked well over a pack of Marlboro red 100's a day used it and kicked the habit.  I figure if he can do it anyone can.

My insurance company would pay 75percent of the cost of Chantix, they would pay completely for welbutrin.

I used welbutrin myself in April, took it for about a month and a half really, I was supposed to titrate up from one pill to two after a week but I never did.  I kept taking just one a day.

I had some outside reasons I wants to stop as well.

One thing that helped me was i did not smoke inside my apartment outside of the second bathroom with the fart fan on.  Other than that I smoked outside.

I could g thru the week only smoking 3 smokes a day...but saturday when I was at the range Id smoke a pack.  the welbutrin really helped me .... I havent had a smoke since April and I dont miss it.

I went cold turkey 10 years ago....easiest route in my book.

My wife has tried Chantix twice. She still smokes. Two friends felt 'mental' on chantix.

Good Luck with quitting. It can be difficult

I used it in January of 08 for only two weeks and was able to quit smoking. I was a pack to pack and a half a day smoker for five years. Quit for eight months.

I'm back to smoking now again, but that's my own fault. All it takes is one cigarette to get you hooked again.

I found that the physiological urge to smoke disappears with Chantix, but the psychological element (ie habit/routine) is what you will continue to struggle with for a while. Just take one day at a time.

Hope this helps.

Be careful with it.
I tried it, Dreams so bad they scared me. I stopped using it.
Some people have a very bad reaction to it.   Weird dreams, etc.

I used it and stopped smoking cigarettes.  The dreams were super vivid and I did feel a bit mental for a while..

I knew a guy that  suddenly started sleep walking and having murderous nightmares on Chantix.

Seems pretty dangerous. You could just stop smoking. That works every time.

yes....dreams like acid trips and nausea that lasted a few hours after each tablet

I used/still use Chantix.  I use it when I know I'm going to be in a smoking situation, ie shooting, gambling, etc.  The doc wants me to use it straigtht for 6 months or something like that but it makes my stomach upset so I only use it when I have to.  I took it for about a month before I stopped using it daily.  So far been good for 2.5 months

It definitely takes the edge off.  Don't get the nic fits.  I get some crazy whacked dreams.   Another benefit of stop smoking is that I feel more mellow and less angry.  Chantix isn't cheap but if you quit you will save money.

I smoked for 20 years and quit using Chantix. The only draw back was the f*cked up dreams I had the first few days. Oh and my insurance co-pay was $30.00

A good friend used Chantix to successfully quit smoking a few years ago.  Crazy dreams were his biggest complaint.

Mom, wife, and I all 3 used it. Loved it. Worked great. My advice? Don't stand still after you fart and prepare for wild dreams.

My mom smoked for 40 years and has been off for 4. My wife and I smoked for 10 years and haven't smoked since April 30-ish.

i to smoked for 30 yrs 2-3 packs a day , i took Chantix for 2 months best thing i have ever done for myself
i only had a couple of dreams and then i didnt remember anymore of them and that was through my 3rd week on Chantix . i think it helps to keep to a schedule on it , i would take mine when i first got up at 4:00 am to start my day and then at 2:30 in the afternoon and i would always eat something in the afternoon . by bedtime i was ready to go to sleep and i didnt have a strong dose of taking a pill  right before bedtime .
Feb 3 rd will be two years for me i still have a new unopen pack of smokes i bought when i first went on Chantix i have written the date on them and put them up on the shelf so i and others can see that you can live with out smokes .

I used it 4 years ago. I had smoked off and on over the last 20 years. My final bout I was up to 3 packs a day. Chantix helped me quit. I don't remember how long I took it but I remember one day having the last cigarette in a pack and just not ever smoking again.

Yes I had some,um,vivid dreams. I was also only sleeping a few hours a night.

The weird part? 7 or 8 months later I realized I hadn't had any alcohol since I quit.
No idea why. Still to this day I don't really crave any cigarettes or beer/wine/liquor...

Imagine dreaming of taking an 18' bowrider from Cape Cod (in Massachusetts) all the way to Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) while being chase by pirates (Think Pirates of the Carriben) All I had to eat was Twinkes and Gatorade.

I had that same dream for 5 straight days while I was on Chantix

I'd love to quit , but I see enough demons and shit in my sleep and I don't want to add to it. I smoke about a pack and half unfiltered 100's a day.

I don't remember most of mine, just waking up with this intense feeling of grief and loss.

cold turkey here, for about 8 months..... still going strong. It was super easy and i dont think any of the quit gimmicks would have helped.
