| I have one I've had for years and even with fresh batteries it has a dim light. I took it apart and cleaned all the connections. Do the bulbs wear out? |
|
I would figure out how to use a dvom and remove the lightbulb and see if you can measure how much of the batteries energy is getting to the bulb.
Actually I would go to candleforumswhatevereasmentioned and read up on maglight mods and modify the maglight to an led of some sort. I just bought some led maglights from lowes when they were on sale and yeah maglights are big and heavy but they have their place when you live around town and don't really want to walk around with a firearm in your hand to check a bump in the night out in the alley. ccw and maglight have their place in my opinion. One thing about using a maglight to hit stuff is you can bend em, use em in a straight line strike and they hold up but swing it like a bat and you might bend it up. |

Pack it up, send it back to Mag with a note of what is wrong with it. Back in a week or two.
I've had mag rebuild my recharageable Mag three times in the last 12 years of ownership. I work in aircraft maintenance and this thing sees EVERYTHING liquid. Jet fuel, skydrol (hyd. fluid), 2380,2154,254, Jet Mobil II (jet oils), water and what ever else a flashlight can fall in to and be submerged. It's pretty bad when they call you and ask what you do with the product. Because they found 3oz of jet fuel in the switch assy the last time I sent it in. Eh.. |
