I'm getting my Christmas presents for my sister's family in the mail, and I notice that someone has used up the packing tape without telling me. It's getting close to closing time, so I figure the friendly folks at the post office will help me out with a piece of tape.
Nope. "We only provide tape if you ship Priority Mail, not Parcel Post", says the hag at the counter. "You can buy a roll of tape. They are right over there." "I've got a better idea", says I. "I'll just take my package down the street to UPS. I'm pretty sure they'll front me a piece of damn tape." Sure enough, they did. They also gave me a tracking number THAT WILL ACTUALLY FUCKING WORK! FUCK YOU, U.S. POSTAL SERVICE! |

I bet it costs more to ship though and will take longer to get there.
I just switched my company over entirely to USPS and its been nothing but good things. They provide me with whatever and however many boxes I want free of charge/have a more user friendly click and ship website/and the stuff gets there a few days faster. Might be worth a small rant on your end but Ill take USPS any day |

You're the guy I'm always stuck behind at the PO. You know, the one who shows up with an unwrapped package and an attitude. Nope; package was wrapped, addressed and ready to roll. All it needed was one piece of tape across the top. Tape gun was right behind her. It would have added all of five seconds to the transaction. She could have done it while I was signing my receipt, thus costing no extra time. |

USPS does a terrific job with standard-sized envelope, first class mail. All else, I don't trust them. They're not nearly as good of a package shipper as UPS or FedEx. Quoted for truth............. I ship literally HUNDREDS of packages daily. USPS is a major PITA and tracking..pfffttttttt my ass. Save the 45 cents on conformation. With my discounts, USPS is actually MORE expensive than private carriers 99% of the time. |

I love using the post office for parcels. What you do is you get all your packages ready to ship before hand. Print the labels online, tape up the boxes at home. Then when you take it to the post office you can walk past the huge line, go right up to the counter and leave the box there while getting stares of death from all the people in line.
Or you can do carrier pick up online too, and the postal worker comes to your doorstep and gets the packages. USPS is pure win. |
