| Never had any dealings with this brand of firearm, Are they any good? |
| I've got a Firestar in 40 S&W. I like it. It is easily concealed. Mine eats whatever I feed it. In the years I've had it, I cannot recall one failure to feed or failure to eject. I recommended one to a friend of mine. he wimped out and got a 9mm instead of the 40 S&W I suggested. He loves his too; and, he used to be a Glock lover. |

I had a Star Firestorm 1911 type for a long time. I bought it dirt cheap, $225 out the door, NIB. The first trip to the range started off disappointing. I was shooting WWII era hardball in it, and it was jamming a lot, at least one or two FTF every mag. The range master saw me getting a bit annoyed with it, and told me to stand by next time the range went cold.
He came back with a WWII era USGI mag, brand new in paper wrapper. Loaded it up, emptied the mag with no problems, loaded it again, same results, repeated a few more times. Now I wandered back to the proshop, bought half a dozen more of those GI mags. loaded them all, and started blasting. At the end of the day the mags it came with were in the trash barrel, and I hadn't had another malfunction since I started using GI mags. In the end it ate just about anything, Chip McCormick mags worked as well as the USGI mags, and I never had another malfunction with the gun again. I didn't expect much from it when I bought it, I had some credit at the store that had it, and they didn't have anything else that caught my eye (at least that the $225 credit I had would let me walk out with). That was probably one of the best firearms bargains I have ever had. I don't know if they are all like that, but the one I had was. I would probably take a chance on another one if I found another two tone stainless and blue for that price. |

A friend gave me a Star in 9mm,,,,,,,,,,,,,was able to get several different mags for it––––––-I NEVER had a problem with it,,pretty good fixed sights and recoil "felt" less than my Beretta 84 380
I gave it to my son and he WON'T give it back for one of my 92's He wishes it held more rounds in the mag!!! |
