So this is my first thread and I have a question to post to the hive.
I went to my local sandwich shop today for lunch and as I walk in the door the gal behind the counter sneezes into the corner of her arm. I say bless you and not thinking much about it start with my order. The gal dons plastic gloves and proceeds to start on my order. About halfway through making my sandwich one of her coworkers asks if her daughter was feeling any better. The gal making my sandwich replies yes but thinks she is now getting sick as she has been throwing up and the likes. My instinct was to say never mind I don’t want the sandwich anymore. I thought maybe have someone else make me a new sandwich but they are all in contact together. Would it be wrong to want a new sandwich made by someone else? Would it be wrong to say I don’t want that sandwich anymore because….? I ended up paying for the sandwich and bringing it back to work to nuke the living daylights out of it in the microwave. Don’t know if that did any good but made me feel better. |

I think you would have been OK to eat the sandwich. Your immune system should do a pretty good job of taking care of itself. I tend to let mine fend for itself as much as possible. I rarely get sick, and don't make a point to overly sanitize things. YMMV, however. |

If there's even a question about a preparer being sick and communicable, they need to stay the hell away. |
