Audi's new R8 against the new Corvette.
Wow! And the winner is: The Corvette. Why? Because the Audi might be better in an awful lot of things, but the Corvette is a whole lot more fun to drive. As for the Stig: Well I'll let you know as soon as the laps are anounced! ETA: 1 minute 21.6 Seconds for the Audi. 1 minute 20.4 seconds for the Corvette. |

yeah, but they still hate the corvette. He liked the ZR-1 Did they import any to England? |

Quoted: New enlarged (Maserati) ? engine. Yes the V10. As for Clarkson, the blokes probably more *Conservative" than most of the blokes on arfcom, although I reckon Hammond will be more popular on here as he has an abiding love of Muscle Cars. yea but Hammond seems homosexual, and hes 4 feet tall. |

Hammond? Gay? LOL. Married with kids. He's got balls too. After his major high speed smash up and spell in coma, once recovered he just got out there and continued with his presenting work. It takes cohonrs to get back in the driving seat after a smash up like he had. |

Quoted: Quoted: Sorry guys, it was the ZR1. V-10 Audi??? It might be the V10 Audi. So the Corvette wins because it is a lot more fun to drive? How boring is it to drive the V10 Audi? The Corvette also has the same steering wheel as my Cobalt SS/TC, and the same cheap plastic interior materials as well. |

R8= v8 RS8= v10(de-tuned Gallardo lp-560 engine) eta VAG went with the Lambo v10 couldn't keep Audi's v10 from getting hot or catching fire The v10 is the R8 5.2, not RS8. At least in the States. And I'm not sure on the fire thing but Audi owns Lamborghini so it is their v10. Detuned as stated, which is a shame. A buddy has just been informed his R8 5.2 arrived at the dealership yesterday. I think he's going to pick it up on Monday. Wish I didn't live so far away or I'd "help" him go get the car. |

One of the best shows on TV.
You can kill MANY hours watching clips and outtakes: http://www.topgear.com/uk/videos |

It just looks alot better. clarkson may dislike the flappy paddle gearboxes but they're awesome when you actually drive your car every day and encounter traffic. |

Yes, it looks as if they are now calling it the r8 v10 or r8 5.2 the last time I heard anything about it the designation was rs8. AFAIK The original v10 version was to use a version of the rs6 twin-turbo v10 but it had the heat issues. The current iteration uses a modified version of the v10 from Gallardo lp560-4 which is a modified non-turboed version of the rs6 v10. As to who actually owns and/or collaborates who/what within VAG it is really hard to keep up with. You can add Porsche and Bugatti to the list posted earlier. |

GM Hy Wire
Top Gear says this is 10 - 20 years away from sale to the public. Pretty cool though. |

He still has issues related to the crash, and being back at work without dealing with the non-physical issues didn't help. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-518048/Richard-Hammond-admits-I-thought-I-better-high-speed-crash––Im-not.html And what's with all the Clarkson hate? The UK needs more people like him, Hammond, and May, not fewer. Heck, I think we need a few of them over on this side of the pond! |

Another interesting option they were thinking about was the v10 turbo diesel. Hell, they may still be thinking about that one. Yeah, the who owns what thing: All you have to do is blink and it seems to change. As for the Vette vs R8, arfcom usually states "get both" so I'm going with that. |
