I just installed my first gas block (a YHM low-profile) on my middy. Everything looks right, but are there any methods to test it before I shoot it and potentially blow myself up?
I'm actually a pretty good WECSOG gunsmith, but I've just never a gasblock before.

It installed easy enough and fits well, if that's any help. I sprayed some canned air down the muzzle and it came out the tube just fine, didn't feel any leaks around the block. Guess we'll know for sure tomorrow.

I'm no smith but I think the worst that could happen is a failure to cycle or a short cycle.

That's what I assumed, I was just hoping someone else would say it.

You cannot "blow yourself up" with a poorly installed gas block. The worst that will happen is the rifle will not cycle.

just shoot, and look for cycling problems and stove piping. afterwrds i usually run a new installed gas block with a beta mag dump, to ensure its gonna be gtg.
