Not true.  Post Meridian.  The hour of 12PM is in the afternoon.  The hour of 12AM is in the morning.

0000 = 12AM, 1200 = 12PM.

3:00 am - 5:59 - I'm really not sure  how to classify this, sort of a late night/early morning thing.

So is noon AM or PM? AM and PM both define before and after the middle of the day. As such the middle of the day would not fit either AM or PM.

(Looking at my orig statement, it does not convey the thought I was attempting to communicate.)

+1

I switched to 24 hour time in my teens and never looked back. 12 hour time sucks unless on an old-style clock (24 hour face clocks just look weird).

I'll make it easy for you all. Sun is up, it's daytime. Sun is down, it's nighttime. Now get back to work.
