I run a one man shop at the moment.  Typically I am by myself all day at work.  I CCW right now with an XD40 and CTAC.  Very comfortable and hides well.  But as the Manager (and senior technician) I have to present a good image to the people who come to hand over money for the work I do.  Part of that in my mind is a decent looking button down shirt that gets tucked in.  This makes for a VERY slow draw.  Even with some practice it is a bit slow getting the pistol out.

This last week the shop was burglarized, so now I am more concerned about the possibility of blading at 45 and having to post about a draw down on arfcom.  What is a faster way of CCW for this situation.  I know I could go to a un-tucked polo shirt as a possibility but wondered what the hive had for ideas.  I did wear a polo for a while but for the shirt to not hang down to my ass as soon as I started working on a car it popped right out of CCW to open carry.  Change over to a smaller pocket pistol?  What other options are there?

I carry in an M-tac with my shirt tucked everyday.  With practice I am able to yank that shirt up out of the way and draw pretty good.  Of course it does take two hands to do it quickly.

J-frame (hammerless)  in a front pocket, or wallet type holster. (With your XD40 near by as back up.)

So what you are telling me is to get to practicing more.

Use the J Frame to fight to the XD, and the XD to fight my way to the rifle.  Not bad.

I have pocket carried a j-frame or KelTec P3AT with some amount of regularity over the years.

Get a Keltec PF-9 or a Ruger LCP...you tend to forget they're even there.

Well yes and no maybe?  It sure is a pain to practice drawing though, you have to re-tuck every time.  I guess it is a compromise, if you need to tuck your shirt then it might have to take a half second longer to draw.

I take money from libs and conservatives alike.  Dont wish to scare off the libs, business isnt strong enough yet to encourage people to shop elsewhere yet.
