and so it begins |

There could very well be some epic shit in the mix tonight. EDIT-the NY district with the "Conservative" candidate running is pretty interesting. I like what he's trying to do. I've heard of him being described as a "Reagan" conservative several times on the news |

i'm praying he wins with a big enough majority so there's no need for a recount

Exciting stuff. Our local mayor's race is quite the nail biter. The incumbent Democrat is an alcoholic Afrocentric lesbian who has helped elevate nepotism to an art form. The challenger is a Democrat who had to go independant and is a stay at home dad who helps supplement his wife carrying the family load by painting board game figures. The only incumbent in the city commissioner's race is some whack job who got arrested at a city meeting after he came dressed up as a ninja. Man, this city is sooooo screwed. |

Speaking of mayoral races, anyone hear what's happening in Atlanta? |

Is this the official thread? If so: Posted: November 3rd, 2009 07:38 PM ET (CNN) – Independents appear to be playing an important role in the country's two off-year gubernatorial races. In New Jersey, Republican Chris Christie took 58 percent of the independent vote, according to early CNN Exit Poll data. Incumbent Gov. Jon Corzine, a Democrat, took just 33 percent of the independent vote. Independents made up 27 percent of the voters in New Jersey race. To the south, in Virginia, 62 percent of independents cast ballots for Republican Bob McDonnell in that state's gubernatorial contest. Democrat Creigh Deeds earned the votes of 37 percent of independents. Independents made up 29 percent of voters in that race. More complete data will be released later in the evening. |

Guys, hold your breath, i think Jersey might be close.
I dont think any of the cities have reported yet. And with Obama out campaigning for his "supporters" to help out Corzine we might have a fight when camden, trenton, newark and jersey city come in. As of 8:31 EST 37 of 6305 Precincts Reporting - 1% Christie, Chris GOP 16,191 51% Corzine, Jon (i) Dem 12,720 40% Daggett, Christopher Ind 2,494 8% |
