I've got an equation I need help with

x-3
–––––– + x-2
5 ––––––––––
2 = 1/2

Im curious as to how I get the denominator the same. I tried multiplying by ten but the denominator changes, and isn't the same through.

Is x-3 over5, plus x-2 over 2, = 1/2

You were right. Multiply by 10

(2x-6) + (5x-10) = 5

7x -16 = 5

7x = 21

x = 3
