Hey, everybody.  I don't know if this has been posted, but for any of you who are currently looking for work or want to change your jobs, there's a good opportunity that's currently growing.

Thousands of Army support jobs that are currently being performed by contractors are being converted to Department of the Army Civilian (DAC) jobs.  What this means, at least for the National Capitol Region, is that there will be about 30,000 "new" jobs that will be announced to the public for competition over the next couple of years.  All 15 contractor positions in my little corner of the Army are also being converted to DAC positions.  This is happening Army-wide, so the number of jobs that are going to be converted are quite numerous.

Contractors who are currently filling those positions will have to submit their resumes through USAjobs.com for consideration along with everybody else.

So, this could be a good opportunity to polish up your resume, register on USAjobs.com, and start looking for a stable job with the Army as a DAC (GS employee).

Just bumping it back to the top.  If you have any questions, I can try to answer them.

Hmmm. I'll have to take a look at that.

Potentially.  Basically, most support jobs that are currently being performed by contractors are being converted to GS jobs.

If there is a contractor currently working as a paramedic for the Army, then his/her job could be converted to a GS job in the very near future.  What I would recommend is to put your resume together and post it on USAjobs.  Make sure to include all those keywords that you think a person hiring a paramedic might use to search for candidates.

Key words are a must. Create a new resume for each job and make sure every key word in the announcement is listed on your resume.
