how much you selling it for, if you decide to sell it? if you don't want to post the price IM I'm hesitant to sell it. I know I would need at least $1200. The previous owner is supposed to bring me some more magazines & ammunition for it this week. I'm mainly using this thread to celebrate & figure out which one I should keep if I do have to sell one.

Easiest way to measure the barrel is by closing the bolt and inserting a thin dowel rod into the barrel down to the bolt face. Mark it, and measure it. It should have the twist marked on the barrel, probably under the handguards ETA: Whoops, must've skipped over the second reply |

Oh, so you went for the "dirty blue with bits of crap all over it" by DuPont?
It's a mobile home, not a fancy log house.

Quoted: For $1200 as a value, it had better come with a ton of good ammo; either that or a boatload of mags or a nice optic. Is that a UTG rail? Mobile home or not, your carpet is filthy. One need not live in Dr.Salee's mansion to keep one's home clean. If my carpet looked like that, I sure wouldn't post pictures of it on the 'net. Back to business....if you gave $1200 value to that rifle as a trade, unless it came with some really nice stuff you're not showing, you got taken. Period. As it stands, a DPMS in that shape is $600-$750 on a good day. At least in this part of NC. |

I cannot believe noone has ripped the UTG rails to threads yet! I don't know what your talking about.
I like the rail system. If I ever save the cash, I'd like to get an ACOG but that's a distant ways off yet. Im not sayingn anything bad about them, just the fact that 99.99% of the time anythign UTG is mentioned or pictured, arfcom has a hissy fit on how you are stupid to reply on chinese trash to save your life. Well thats what happened when i asked if i should get a UTG rail system. |

QFT You MAY get $1200 selling it to somebody in a ban state as a Pre-Ban lower, but I could get that rifle all day any day for $800 without trying. $700 if I bothered to shop around. |

Don't say that to me. I know I'm getting several thousand rounds of ammo/five of those magazines that the front slides down though so that'll help.

What brand of ammo? 5 Cammenga mags? Used Cammenga mags? That should add $50 to the package's value... ![]() It had better be 3K of Federal, Lake City, or other good surplus or commercial ammo, or 4-5K rounds of Wolf or Barnaul. Doesn't seem like $1200 rifle by a long shot, so there had better be a shit ton of ammo. |
|
I believe the answer is to sell both rifles and give the money to the chick from your thread in team.
Wait, nevermind. I hope the "several thousands" of rounds means at least 2k of decent ammo. Since you sell ammo I am sure you know how much and what manufacturer. |

Leave it alone. |
| I sold one very similar to that with much better parts(Colt A1 slickside upper, Colt M4 barrel, RRA lower, etc) for $800, I started out at $1,000 (I always start high) and it took almost a month before I got offered $800 . So I hope you got a shitload of ammunition or you did indeed get taken. |

Quoted: Either way, which rifle should I keep? Which one do you like more? Neither is overly valuable. Typically you might get $500-$600 for either, depending on where you try to sell it. Here in the EE, a Doublestar/CMMG "mutt" isn't that exciting, nor is a DPMS build with cheap accessories. You might find more takers at the flea market where folks aren't so AR jaded. |

EDIT: And what's the deal with those magazines anyway? Are they good or what?

Im not sayingn anything bad about them, just the fact that 99.99% of the time anythign UTG is mentioned or pictured, arfcom has a hissy fit on how you are stupid to reply on chinese trash to save your life.
Well thats what happened when i asked if i should get a UTG rail system. Well if ya'll will pitch in & buy it, I'll use a Larue rail system. Who made the light?
Something called "olight".

Something called "olight". ![]() Olight is a chinese manufacturer (aren't they all these days...) and not something I would put on my weaponry. Their handheld light production started a few years ago and they have quality control issues. Anyway, I'd say that the light used will fetch 30-40 bucks, maybe 50 for the uninformed. Keep the midlength. Midlength is 'mo bettah' as we say here. |

Am I going to need another lock?
I'm going to set a record at reporting people as it is. EDIT: I tell you mods what, go ahead & lock this thread. There's just too much rude behavior going on here & it's clearly not going to get better even if I refrain from posting strange things.
