I've been reading all of the threads about the Dale Eroh raid and the progress of the "Campaign Finance Reform" bill, and I have an idea. Perhaps we should push a "Media Truthfulness Reform Act". If we can trash the First Amendment with campaing finance reform, why can't we hold the press accountable for all of the outright lies they spread. Let's strengthen the laws concerning slander. If you publish or broadcast a lie, then the offending party should have the right to seek compensation. It's only fair... for the children. |
