Suspect shot during home invasion Associated Press - October 15, 2009 3:34 PM ET SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Caddo Parish sheriff's detectives have arrested a man following a home invasion in which the homeowner shot the suspect. Deputies say someone kicked in a front door around 3 a.m. Thursday - and was shot by the homeowner when he appeared at the man's bedroom door. About 30 minutes later, deputies say 30-year-old Dion Lewis showed up at a hospital with bullet wounds in both legs. Sheriff's spokeswoman Cindy Chadwick says Lewis was arrested on an aggravated burglary charge. Sheriff Steve Prator said a woman and the homeowner's 17-year-old son were in the house during the break-in, but nobody living there was injured. Prator said a loaded AK-47 was found lying at the front door. |
