Okay, I have a person's name and I know the state where they were convicted.

How do I look up what exactly they were convicted of?

Drive to where he was convicted, park, go in to the clerk of courts/records department with the case number, wait in line and ask to see the file. It typically doesn't cost anything unless you want to make copies, then I've seen them ding you for $8 per page.

you can sometimes just do a google search some law enforcement agencies, sheriff's office are putting names on line when there is an active warrant. if you know where in the state the arrest was contact the clerk of the county or district court, but it is probably going to costs you something.

Most states have some form of online records available now. It may be buried in a website w/ no clear indication as to what it is or how to get there

That's what you pay an attorney for, lol. That and writing letters on really nice letterhead.
