First off I don't know where I got this info, if I made it up in my mind or heard it at a gunshop but....
I seem to remember hearing something about soviet night vision scopes actually being very crude thermal scopes. Heat sources show up as green blobs or something...

| i've got a vomz russian NVS stored sumwhere, its crap, gen 1 - a few thousand, has more of a bluish view than green, the walmart monoculars or probably even the toy nvgs work better...i'm telling you, looking through that thing shit is blurry and blue and when tribey would exhale smoke sitting next to me i couldnt see shit |
