Ok guys I have been unemployed for awhile now and am starting to get desperate.  I have never really put together a resume before. New Jobs always came to me and I had better jobs always seem to just pop up, well my lcky streak has been broken with the economy and I am now applying for a local FedEx job. I have a resume form to use where it says Objective, what the hell do I put in there?  My objective right now is to find a new career.

Ignore it.  I laugh every time I see an objective on a resume.

Use the form as a guide but don't just fill in the blanks.  You need to write your resume to fit the job that you are applying for.

I thought it was stupid when I was the one reviewing resumes at my last job.  Everything I look at online for resumes though says it should include an objective.  So I dunno I can not think of a single thing to put in there that would not sound stupid

Unless you can put a specific objective in there, then CONSIDER it.  If it is self evident, such as when you are sending it to an individual and he only has one opening???

But, if it is going to say "Position with increasing responsibility in a growing company"  - DON'T
