What happens to all the mags that are dropped during speed reloads in combat? |
|
recover them later if possible, if not, you can always get more.
Just a note- Most of the time, if you are in a situation where you had to reload so fast that you need to just drop the mags without stashing them, what is going to happen to your mags is the least of your worries. |

Much truth in what Sponge says , young grasshopper!!!
I cannot imagine short of a human wave attack where you would not have the second and a half it would take to drop the empty into a dumppouch or even back into your mag pouch. No combat vet but I cannot see where you could not at leats find someplace on you to drop the empty even if it's in your pants pocket unless you are totally out of your mind panicking, in which case it's condition black and you are about to die anyway. |

| I had my own personal drop leg dump pouch when I was in, and I always used it. Even the guys who didn't have one in my unit always kept track of their mags even in a fire fight, but from what I gather here my unit seems to have been stupid anal. For the guys that didn't have their own retention gear, they were taught to insert the empty mag inside their IBA's between their chest, and the vest. Most, usually just stuffed them into their cargo pockets on their pants. I am about 90% positive that nobody in my PLT in Iraq, or A-Stan lost a mag do to any reason. The only exception would have been if the mag suffered too much damage to be rendered useless, but then again you had to turn that one back in to receive a new one. |
