this might be a dupe but Rush was talking about it today and gen. mcchrystal said it last night on 60 minutes. how can this jackass go to denmark to try and win the bid for the olympics in chicago and only talk with his afghanistan commader once in more than 2 months? bush used to talk to them multiple times a week wtf? "The military general credited with capturing Saddam Hussein and killing the leader of al Qaeda in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, says he has spoken with President Obama only once since taking command in Afghanistan. “I’ve talked to the president, since I’ve been here, once on a VTC [video teleconferece],” Gen. Stanley McChrystal told CBS reporter David Martin in a television interview that aired Sunday. “You’ve talked to him once in 70 days?” Mr. Martin followed up. “That is correct,” the general replied." |

I'm not Obama fan but I can't really fault him for this one. Take the opposite side, if the guy was having twice a week telecons with, and getting orders directly from POTUS then we'd probably be all up in arms about how Obama is micromanaging the war. dude he only talked with him once in 70 days sorry but the president needs to stay informed about whats going on and talk directly to his commander on the ground IMO |

how ofter should the president talk to the commander on the ground? more than once in more than two months. since he's the one who campaigned about how the afghan war was the one worth fighting and winning eta: and if i was the boss i would want to be talking directly to my commander on the ground than getting it from second or third hand parties. |

There is a huge line between getting informed and micromanaging the war. The POTUS must be inform of the progress of the war. He is the Commander in Chief. He must be aware of any development in the progress of the war. One briefing in more then two months is not what I considered a good CiC. How many times did he went to late night tv shows in those two months? More then once I'll bet you. |
