| I passed a farm/ranch yesterday that was packed with geese in cages and around a pond. Is there $$ to be made of of this or are these just the bird version of the crazy cat ladies? |
| I dunno about ducks, but our neighbor raises goats to sell to Mexicans for food. All they eat is basically grass and take care of themselves, so there isn't a bunch of overhead. But, I doubt you could get rich selling goats or ducks for a living. I speculate she is raising them for some ethinic group in the area.. probably Chinamen. Not gonna get rich from it, but it's a living I guess. |

Goose is probably a seasonal item that people generally only purchase during the holidays. You'd probably have to set up a facility to process, package and freeze them for sale to grocery stores. I imagine that the whole thing would likely be a pain in the ass to deal with and might not turn a profit... or at least not turn a profit until you were able to sell your birds to the grocery stores. |

I wonder how much the ranchers make per unit on geese. |

I'm calling B.S. on that!
