So about 6 weeks ago my laptop cord frayed and it would no longer charge. The battery died and the laptop has been setting in the corner of the room for 6 weeks now. Well I finally got around to ordering a charger and it came in today. Well I got it charged and turned it on, but it is VERY slow. It was running fine before I set it aside. Any ideas on things I may be able to do to get it running faster? Could running the battery all the way down and letting it set for 6 weeks have done any damage to the computer? Thanks for any help.

Refill the blinker fluid?

Honestly - it's probably downloading and/or installing updates.  There have probably been a few since the machine was last on.  Let it stay on/running overnight.
