As some of you know, I recently moved to NC from Florida.  Before I moved, my wife and I had a huge yard sale to sell off extra stuff from home and office that we had accumulated over the years.  My rule is "if I haven't seen it, used it or needed it in 6 months, sell it."  Of course guns, ammo and other items are exempt from this rule.

My wife had a new-ish black leather sofa in her office lobby for sale, $300 and I had a Trek 7100 mountain bike (2 years old, never used ), asking $150.  A friend of mine was in need of good couch and his wife wanted the bike, but they didn't have $$$ for both.   He had recently purchased a new M&P in 9mm and a Sigma in 40cal for his wife.  She loved the M&P but after firing 4 shots through the Sigma, it was a bit too much for her.  He offered the sigma for trade.

The Sigma came with 2 extra mags, S&W laser sight, and tritium night sights.  Best as I can tell, the package is worth in the neighborhood of $500 +/-.

I made the deal.  Did I do ok?

Positive and negative's of sigmas?

I just got rid of a sigma .40 not long ago. The gun was fine, just the trigger was heavy.
btw, where in NC are you?

don't know much about the positives but I do know the triggers suck....     I'd have traded for the M&P, don't know if I'd trade off $450 worth of stuff for one as you can get them for like $250.

I have a trigger spring on order and should be here in a few days, I am not too worried about that as it is a pretty easy fix.  I will most likely sell it or trade it on a toy I do want.

80% of people who trash the new Sigmas (VE not F series) are either talking about the old Sigmas or have no experience with any of them. I just sold mine to put the money toward a G26. It made sense for me because 9mm Glocks are my handgun of choice. Share mags, holsters, etc.

I estimate it had 7k rounds through it without so much as a hiccup. The ergonomics are really nice, reliability is great, but the trigger is heavy. It's just one of those guns people have to trash it seems. You probably did alright, but like you were saying, you'll probably trade it.

Yes, because you can't shoot anybody with a fucking couch.

And carrying it around with you, would also suck.

I wouldn't have done it. But if you could use a pistol more then the couch, then sure, why not? I don't care for the sigmas. Somethings I can get over. Their triggers are not one of those things.
